Our Mission
The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) is the leading national organization for Latino(a) workers and their families. LCLAA was born in 1972 out of the need to educate, organize and mobilize Latinos in the labor movement and has expanded its influence to organize Latinos in an effort to impact workers' rights and their influence in the political process. LCLAA represents the interest of more than 2 million Latino workers in the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), The Change to Win Federation, Independent Unions and all its membership.
What We've Achieved
We have committed over $20,000 to the Latin community members.
We are providing over $5,000 in scholarship funds.
We were part of the push to bring worker public health councils to LA County.
We joined the LA County Federation of Labor in GOTV efforts to win PA this past Presidential Election.
We joined USW 675 in providing over 450 turkey's and food to over 550 families for Thanksgiving.
We joined the City of Maywood in providing hundreds of gifts to children for Christmas.
We led the push for the Census Count with Labor Leaders and Elected Officials.
We stood side by side with our sisters and brothers who were on strike.
